Chocolate Lab Needs Your Assistance

We rescued this sweet chocolate lab the other day after she collapsed in front our house. She is a nice pup but really sick. At this time she is at the vet’s office in Fajardo.

Animal Welfare of Culebra – Press Release

ANIMAL WELFARE OF CULEBRA ANNOUNCES NEW PROGRAM

The Animal Welfare of Culebra, Inc., a non-profit organization, has announced a new program in conjunction with the new Ecological School in Culebra, to promote the sterilization of the island’s animals.  In cooperation with the first, second, and third grade teachers, a program was developed to encourage the children in those grades to convince a parent, neighbor, friend to have their animal(s) sterilized in order to reduce the animal overpopulation in Culebra.

Upon the sterilization, the child will receive a tee shirt with the inscription, “Yo cuido los animales de Culebra.”  Their picture will be taken each time an animal is sterilized, placed on a special bulletin board, and, at the end of the school year, the child with the most pictures will receive a special prize.

To learn more about this program, and how you could possibly help, please contact Terrie Hayward, 787-742-0257, or Addie Vasquez, 787-742-0353.
